P&G, who have just become the 11^th global sponsors of the 2012 Olympics, chose Derek as the ideal person to speak at their management event. They are also, however, a highly family-orientated organisation, so who could be a better choice as Derek’s unexpected co-stars than his parents? Jim and Jenny Redmond, who have supported him completely throughout his athletics career, were secretly flown out to Switzerland by Derek's agent to surprise Derek, making for a touching and emotional finale to his talk.
